About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or part-qualified UK and/or European Patent Attorney with a background in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, medical technology, or pharmacology. The role offers the chance to work closely with experienced partners and colleagues, gaining exposure to a broad and interesting client base while developing technical and commercial expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting, filing, and prosecuting UK, European, and international patent applications in chemistry and life sciences.
Advising clients on patent strategy, portfolio management, and freedom‑to‑operate issues.
Collaborating with partners and colleagues to deliver high‑quality advice to national and international clients.
Supporting contentious and non‑contentious patent matters.
Managing deadlines and workload efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Building client relationships and contributing to the growth of the practice.
Requirements
Newly qualified or part‑qualified UK and/or European Patent Attorney (or equivalent) in private practice or in‑house.
Background in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, medical technology, or pharmacology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with a multi‑national client base.
Strong organisational skills, time management, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proactive and self‑motivated, with a willingness to learn and take on responsibility.
