Chef - Trenchard Line (ESS - Compass Group)

⏰ Hours: 40 hours per week (full-time, site-based)
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 - working one weekend in four

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Chef to join our catering team at Trenchard Line, part of ESS - Compass Group.
You'll be responsible for preparing and serving fresh, high-quality meals in a take-out style service, supporting a close-knit team that delivers excellent food and service standards for around 30-60 Service Personnel per meal.

Numbers can increase during functions, exercises, or when more personnel are on site, so flexibility and teamwork are key.

• Early Shift: 06:30 - 14:30

• Late Shift: 12:00 - 20:00

• Working one weekend in four

 Breakfast: 07:15 - 08:30
Lunch: 12:30 - 13:30
️ Dinner: 18:00 - 19:30

When fully staffed, our kitchen team includes:
‍ 2 Chefs
‍ 1 Head Chef
‍ 1 Supervisor
‍♀️ 2 Front of House staff

You'll be joining a supportive, hands-on team that takes pride in delivering great food and service every day.

✅ Previous experience in a catering or chef role - essential
Relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) - desirable
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Flexible, reliable, and positive attitude
