Chartered Associate Fire Engineer
A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Chartered Associate Fire Engineer to join their established fire engineering team in Birmingham or Manchester. This organisation works on complex, high-profile projects across the built environment and is now looking to strengthen its senior technical capability due to continued growth.
Chartered Associate Fire Engineer - Role
As a Chartered Associate Fire Engineer, you will be a key member of the fire engineering discipline, able to lead medium-to-large projects and support the delivery of complex fire strategies across multiple sectors. Your role will include:
Leading the delivery of fire engineering design, fire strategy development and engineered solutions
Overseeing modelling outputs, including CFD analysis and evacuation modelling, ensuring technical accuracy and quality
Managing and coordinating project teams, acting as technical lead and senior point of contact for clients
Mentoring and supervising Graduate and Intermediate Engineers, supporting their pathway to chartership
Providing expert guidance on building regulations, fire safety standards and legislative compliance
Assist with tender submissions and PQQ completions
Engaging confidently with clients, design teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
Supporting business development activities and contributing to continued growth within the region
Driving technical excellence and contributing to internal standards, procedures and best practiceChartered Fire Engineer / Associate Fire Engineer Requirements
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status - essential
Extensive experience working as a Chartered Associate Fire Engineer or equivalent senior-level position
Strong technical capability in fire engineering design, modelling, and development of fire strategies
Proficiency with modelling tools
Excellent understanding of UK fire safety legislation, building regulations and industry guidance
Demonstrable experience managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication and consultancy skills, with confidence engaging clients at senior level
Ability to support and mentor engineers progressing toward chartership
Desire to contribute to technical excellence, innovation and long-term business growth
