Chartered Building Surveyor Location : Glasgow Salary : £44,000 - £52,000 per annum Contract : Full time, Permanent We are seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our Technical Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of non-domestic assets and contribute to the management of Glasgow City Council's investment portfolio and surplus assets. You will play a key role in delivering professional building surveying services, including dilapidations, condition surveys, feasibility studies, landlord consents, and contract administration. The role also involves supporting asset management strategies, improving sustainability, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Deliver a wide range of building surveying services, including schedules of condition, valuations, and pre-acquisition surveys. Prepare accurate reports and provide specialist advice to stakeholders. Administer projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Develop and implement asset management and maintenance programmes. Support sustainability and energy performance improvements across the portfolio. Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to achieve best value. Essential Requirements Professional Qualification: Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Full UK driving licence. Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills. Proven experience in building surveying across a diverse portfolio. Excellent time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Skilled in Microsoft Office applications. Desirable Membership of the Association for Project Management. Experience with BIM/CAD and Microsoft Project. Knowledge of public sector procurement routes. Experience mentoring APC candidates.
