About the Role
Apprenticeship Central is seeking a full-timeBusiness Support Administratorto play a key role in supporting our apprentice recruitment and retention programmes, as well as providing wider operational support across the business.
This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who ishighly organised, detail-oriented, and confident working independently. You’ll be supporting apprentices, employers, and the internal team, helping to keep our small, fast-paced business running smoothly.
You’ll be working across both ourRECRUITandRETAINprogrammes — from supporting candidate outreach and arranging interviews, to running apprentice review calls and liaising with training providers — alongside general administrative responsibilities across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct onboarding calls with new apprentices and their mentors
- Lead regular review calls to monitor progress, motivation, and support needs
- Liaise with training providers, employers, and families to address issues or queries
- Provide guidance to help apprentices overcome challenges and stay on track
2. Recruitment Support (RECRUIT Programme)
- Help arrange interviews and communicate with candidates
- Conduct initial screening calls where needed
- Keep applicant tracking systems and records updated
- Follow up with schools, colleges, and leads to promote opportunities
3. Safeguarding & Welfare
- Be a first point of contact for safeguarding or wellbeing concerns
- Monitor engagement and escalate issues appropriately
- Support under-18s with additional contact where needed
- Ensure accurate documentation of any safeguarding or welfare matters
4. Business & Admin Support
- Keep systems and files up to date and organised
- Help manage internal templates, forms, and communications
- Support marketing activity (e.g. posting materials, chasing leads)
- Assist with meeting coordination, reporting, and general operations
- Work closely with the internal team, flagging issues early
- Contribute ideas to improve processes and team systems
- Assist with tracking KPIs and preparing internal reports
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, professional, and confident working with young people and employers
- Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Able to manage a varied workload and switch between tasks with ease
- Interested in youth development, apprenticeships, and making a difference
Aminimum of 4 years’ experience in administrationis preferred.
Experience ineducation, youth work, safeguarding, recruitment, or customer serviceis also helpful — but not essential. We’re open to the right person with the right mindset and a willingness to learn.
