Package: Up to £60,000 base + car allowance + commission (OTE c. £90,000)
Role Overview
As a Business Development Manager
Fire Systems (Projects & Installations) for our customer's Fire Division, you will be responsible for developing strategic customers that are critical to the Groups revenue, reputation, and long-term growth.
This is a senior, relationship-led role with a highly consultative sales approach. You will develop deep, long-term partnerships with national and FM-led clients, navigating complex stakeholder environments and long sales cycles to deliver sustainable growth.
The Business Development Manager (Projects & Installations) is responsible for driving new revenue through the sale of fire detection, life safety and security projects across the commercial and HMO sectors, typically with a project value of up to £500,000.
The role focuses on identifying, developing and converting opportunities for new fire system installations, upgrades, compliance works and refurbishments, working closely with contractors, consultants, managing agents and end users. The BDM will engage early in the project lifecycle to influence specifications, secure preferred contractor status and ensure the company is positioned to win work at the tender stage.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate leads via Glenigans, managing agents, contractors and building owners
Sell fire alarms (BS5839), emergency lighting and security installations/projects
Prepare and submit proposals and close projects/installations
Manage handover to project delivery
Convert installs into maintenance contracts
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
Drive revenue growth across projects, installation and upgrade opportunities.
Lead complex, long-cycle sales opportunities using a consultative, solution-led approach.
Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across the wider group's service offering.
Protect and enhance project value through effective pricing, negotiation, and margin management.
Target Sectors: Commercial buildings, warehouses, offices, retail parks, hotels, schools, HMOs and residential blocks.
