Check you match the skill requirements for this role, as well as associated experience, then apply with your CV below.Business Data Analyst (Fixed-Term Contract)Location: Hybrid / UK-based (with site or office attendance as required)Contract: Fixed-Term Contract (initially 3-6 months, with potential extension)Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (pro rata)Clearance: SC Cleared (Ideally existing SC)The OpportunityAn established organisation operating within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment is entering an important phase of data and reporting maturity and is seeking a Business Data Analyst on a fixed-term basis.This role will play a key part in improving how data is captured, structured, reported, and used across programmes - supporting both operational delivery and commercial decision-making. You'll work closely with stakeholders across commercial, operations, and functional teams to identify problems, build meaningful dashboards, and introduce clearer, more consistent ways of working.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems through data, improving underdeveloped processes, and operating in complex, stakeholder-heavy environments.Key ResponsibilitiesWork with business stakeholders to understand reporting problems, data gaps, and decision-making requirementsDesign and develop clear, effective dashboards and reports (primarily using Power BI)Map existing processes and data flows, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvementImprove consistency and accuracy of management information across departmentsSupport commercial and operational teams with data-driven insightHelp define and document end-user reporting requirementsAct as a bridge between technical data outputs and non-technical stakeholdersIntroduce structure and clarity where processes and reporting are not yet fully definedEngage confidently across a range of functions in a regulated environmentWhat You'll BringProven experience as a Business Data Analyst, Data Analyst, or Business Improvement AnalystStrong experience building dashboards and reports, particularly using Power BIConfidence analysing and interpreting data to produce actionable insightExperience working across commercial, operational, or programme environmentsStrong process-mapping and problem-solving capabilityExcellent stakeholder engagement and communication skillsA proactive, curious mindset with the confidence to work independentlyStrong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Experience working in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, infrastructure, engineering, or construction would be beneficial, but is not essential.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career. xwzovoh Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
