The role:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst to join our agile delivery teams. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the programme to gather, analyse, and manage requirements to support the successful delivery of business solutions. You will act as a key liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring clear understanding and traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.


Responsibilities:


  • Requirements Gathering and Management: Elicit and document clear, concise, and actionable business and technical requirements through interviews, workshops, observation, and document analysis.
  • Requirements Analysis and Prioritisation: Analyse, evaluate, and prioritise requirements based on business value, feasibility, and stakeholder input to support product and project goals.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication between business stakeholders and development teams, ensuring all parties have a shared understanding of project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Documentation and Traceability: Maintain high-quality documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, use cases, process flows, and traceability matrices to ensure end-to-end coverage.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product owners, developers, QA engineers, and UX designers within agile teams to ensure that solutions meet business needs and technical constraints.
  • Agile Participation: Contribute to agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, supporting continuous delivery and iterative improvement.
  • Works under general direction: Receives specific direction, accepts guidance and has work reviewed at agreed milestones. Uses discretion in identifying and responding to complex issues related to own assignments. Determines when issues should be escalated to a higher level. Plans and monitors own work (and that of others where applicable) competently within limited deadlines.
  • Interacts with and influences colleagues: May oversee others or make decisions which impact routine work assigned to individuals or stages of projects. Has working level contact with customers, suppliers and partners. Understands and collaborates on the analysis of user/customer needs and represents this in their work. Contributes fully to the work of teams by appreciating how own role relates to other roles.
  • Performs a range of work: sometimes complex and non-routine, in a variety of environments. Applies a methodical approach to routine and moderately complex issue definition and resolution. Applies and contributes to creative thinking or finds new ways to complete tasks.


Skills & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Proven experience working in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management and documentation tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


Desirable skills:


  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., BCS or PMBOK).
  • Experience in Defence
  • Familiarity with data analysis, reporting tools, or SQL is a plus.
