Overall purpose of the role To Expertly operate and maintain high pressure boilers, steam turbines, industrial chillers, air compressors, and various pumps. Knowledge of instruments is essentials ie. flow meters, pressure sensors, level sensors and the like. Main duties and responsibilities Ensured all boilers were in top shape to produce high quality dry steam for plant Operated automatically fired boiler to generate steam that supplied heat for food production process, and safely maintained the main header pressure. Executed daily operations of maintaining a normal operating water level. Maintained and processed water for boiler plant Observed pressure, temperature, feed water regulators and burners. Turned valves and adjusted controls to set specified water level and steam pressure of boiler. Tested and treated boiler feed water, using chemical testing kits and oxygen scavengers. Maintained a boiler room log, recorded meter, and gauge data readings, such as water test results and quantity of fuel consumed. Performed a thorough inspection of boiler equipment every day. Qualifications & Experience Essential Knowledge of working in a rendering facilitate Qualified boiler operator Behaviours Diligent with a keen eye for detail Ability to work with minimal supervision Effective team player Flexibility around working hours Measures of Success Completion of all required testing and accurate reporting of findings according to plan Zero errors in testing Full compliance with regulatory requirements Shift Pattern 12 hour shifts day and nights Salary of £ 46,800.00 per year on 60 hours per week, £15 per hour.
