We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join our team in the Clinical Biochemistry Department at St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The role will enable your continued development as a Clinical Scientist and require you to have knowledge and experience in LC-MS/MS and/or HPLC. You will build on your broad range of experience in Clinical Biochemistry and provide scientific input into both the automated and the specialist laboratories of the Biochemistry department. Key Responsibilities:
# Work autonomously as an HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist within professional and departmental guidelines.
# Have knowledge of clinical conditions and their impact on biochemical analyses and results.
# Participate in the Duty Biochemist rota, interpret and report patient results, and advise clinical colleagues on testing and diagnosis.
# Use high-level skills to interpret and communicate clinical significance of investigations and initiate additional tests as appropriate.
# Contribute to service improvement, research, development, and audit within the department.
# Support professional staff and service managers in delivering analytical services and carry out general laboratory duties.
# Develop expertise in a specialized area and participate in network projects related to service developments.

Team and Department:
Join a friendly team including Consultants, Principal, and Senior Clinical Scientists. Participate in clinical advisory and authorization duties and contribute to research and development. The department features a large automated laboratory serving as the GP hub for the SWLP network and specialist chemistry laboratories performing various advanced assays.
