We are supporting a global construction business in the search for an experienced Bid Manager to lead and elevate its bid function following a planned retirement. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic leader who thrives on winning work, developing teams, and delivering compelling, high-quality submissions.
The role
As Bid Manager, you will take ownership of the entire bid function, driving the successful conversion of opportunities into secured projects. You will lead on bid strategy, oversee delivery, and ensure submissions are engaging, compliant, and aligned with client needs and community outcomes.
Lead, manage, and develop the bid team to create a collaborative and high-performing culture
Set clear objectives, key performance indicators, and standards aligned with business growth
Develop winning strategies focusing on social value, design quality, and community impact
Oversee the full bid lifecycle from opportunity through to submission and feedback
Manage multiple tenders while ensuring quality, creativity, and compliance
Ensure all submissions are clear, engaging, and tailored to client requirements
Implement structured review processes to drive continuous improvement
Ensure proposals reflect practical delivery, safety, and durability
Oversee the use of bid tools, customer relationship management systems, and document control processes
Drive consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the bid function
Act as the central coordination point for all bid activity
Analyse feedback and report insights to senior leadership
The candidate
Proven experience in bid management
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent writing, editing, and communication ability
Creative and solutions-focused with strong commercial awareness
Experience managing multiple deadlines and bid pipelines
Good understanding of public sector procurement and frameworks
Experience using customer relationship management systems and bid tools
