Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor Location: Bury – Secondary School Contract: Full-time – Temporary / Temp to Permanent Start Date: After April – following Easter half term

About the Role We are looking for a compassionate and motivated SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor to join a secondary school in Bury. This provision supports students who have been partly or fully excluded from mainstream education and require additional support to re-engage with learning and develop positive behaviours.

You will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviours, supporting them both in the classroom and 1:1. Your role will involve promoting engagement, emotional regulation, and personal development in a safe and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Support students with SEMH needs in classroom learning

* Provide 1:1 support and mentoring for students who require extra guidance

* Assist teachers in delivering lessons and structured activities

* Encourage positive behaviour and help students manage emotions

* Build trusting relationships with students to foster engagement and progress

* Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment
