Behaviour Mentor

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to provide one-to-one support for young people who are currently outside of mainstream education. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
You will work closely with learners who may have experienced barriers to education, helping them to re-engage with learning, develop positive coping strategies, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored 1:1 support sessions based on individual needs
* Build strong, trusting relationships with young people
* Support emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour strategies
* Plan and deliver engaging, alternative learning activities
* Work collaboratively with families, carers, and external professionals
* Monitor progress and maintain accurate records and reports
* Encourage personal development, life skills, and independence
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or emotional needs
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* The ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively
* Flexibility and creativity in adapting to individual learning styles
* A background in education, youth work, social care, or similar (desirable but not essential)
