Rutherford is partnered with a leading international law firm recognised for its strength in technology, private wealth, real estate, and high-value cross-border transactions. The firm is seeking a 1–3 PQE Banking & Finance Solicitor to join its London team, working across a broad spectrum of transactional debt finance matters.

You’ll advise lenders, funds, and corporates on leveraged and acquisition finance, general corporate lending, receivables and asset-based lending, and loan trading transactions. This role offers early responsibility, significant client contact, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment known for its strong culture and sector-led approach.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on a wide range of financing transactions, including leveraged/acquisition finance (with exposure to super senior lending structures), corporate lending, ABL/receivables financing, and loan trading.
• Work on complex and bespoke financial structures across multiple sectors.
• Draft, negotiate, and review finance documentation with commercial insight and precision.
• Collaborate closely with associates across the team and help guide and support trainees.
• Engage directly with clients, managing relationships and delivering clear, pragmatic advice.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and thought leadership within the finance group.

What you’ll bring

• 1–3 years’ PQE in banking and finance, ideally gained at a leading City or international firm.
• Strong technical understanding of financing structures, with experience in one or more of: leveraged finance, corporate lending, ABL/receivables, or loan trading.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively in a high-performing team.
• Commercial awareness and confidence dealing with clients directly.
