Highway Design Engineer | 6-month contract | Rochester, Hybrid | £320 p/d We are seeking a skilled Highway Design Engineer to contribute to the planning and delivery of key infrastructure projects, including Local Transport Plan (LTP), Section 106, and other highway and infrastructure schemes. The successful candidate with be proficient on AutoCad and will need a Driving Licence, their own vehicle and be able to attend the offices at least 3 times per week in Rochester, Kent. Highway Design Engineer Key Responsibilities: Prepare highway designs in line with national standards (DMRB, MCHW, Manual for Streets). Develop works orders under the Council's Term Maintenance Contract (TMC). Prepare bespoke NEC contracts for projects outside TMC scope. Manage design and construction programmes with strong financial control. Oversee contract administration, including payments and verification. Supervise construction activities and ensure quality compliance. Liaise effectively with stakeholders, including Council staff, Members, and the public. Support the Council's strategic goals through safe, efficient project delivery.
