They are seeking an Associate Transport Planner to join their Nottingham team. Reporting to the Regional Director and the Transport Planning Associate Director, you will lead the expansion of the Transport Planning Team to complement the office's existing multidisciplinary services.
Who you are
- You have significant industry experience and aspire to grow, establish, and manage your own transport planning team.
- You have a proven track record of developing new business, managing multiple projects, and maintaining key client and stakeholder relationships.
- You possess excellent report writing skills, with experience in preparing Transport Notes, Statements, Assessments, and Travel Plans.
- You have a good understanding of relevant local and transport policies and guidance.
- You have experience as an expert witness at planning appeals, local plan examination hearings, or similar proceedings.
- You demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with high attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- You are a member of a professional institution such as CIHT, IHE, TPS, and preferably chartered via TPP or CMILT.
- You have knowledge of sustainable and active travel innovations and design standards.
- You are familiar with DfT Webtag policy and strategic/microsimulation modelling tools such as VISSIM or PARAMICS.
- You are competent in junction capacity modelling software like Junctions 10 and LinSig/Quickgreen, as well as industry software such as TRICS and TEMPro.
- You are proficient in preliminary highway design using AutoCAD and relevant design standards.
- You have experience with GIS software packages such as QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, Basemap TRACC, and Podaris.
