Job Description

Associate Structural Engineer - Central London Consultancy

I'm working with a well-established, highly respected London-based structural engineering consultancy that is looking to welcome an Associate Structural Engineer to its growing team. Known for its technical excellence, collaborative culture, and architecturally driven design approach, this practice offers the chance to take a leading role in delivering some of the capital's most interesting and challenging refurbishment projects.

About the Consultancy
The company has built a strong reputation across London for its specialist expertise in structural alterations, complex refurbishments, and high-end residential work. Their portfolio includes:

  • Luxury domestic refurbishments and basement extensions

  • Architecturally ambitious renovations and reconfigurations

  • Contractor-led temporary works, cut-and-carve schemes, and complex structural interventions

  • Working here means joining a team that values creativity, engineering rigour, and close collaboration with top-tier architects and contractors.

The Opportunity
As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will take on a leadership position within the practice and be trusted with significant project and team responsibility from day one. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of around five engineers, helping shape their technical development and project delivery skills

  • Driving technically complex refurbishment and structural alteration projects, often involving challenging constraints and bespoke, creative engineering solutions

  • Collaborating closely with architects, contractors, and clients, acting as a key technical voice from early concept through to delivery

  • Running projects with a high degree of autonomy, supported by a wider leadership team that values independence and trust

  • Playing a central role in project strategy, design reviews, and resourcing decisions

  • Clear progression towards senior leadership, with a genuine long-term pathway to partnership for the right individual

What's on Offer

  • A highly competitive salary tailored to experience

  • A generous bonus scheme tied to both individual and company performance (last year Associates received around £20k)

  • The chance to work on some of the most interesting structural challenges in the London market

  • Supportive, down-to-earth company culture with strong emphasis on team collaboration and quality of work

  • Long-term career development and involvement in the strategic growth of the consultancy
