We are seeking an Assistant Signalling Project Engineer to lead the delivery of a new, cutting-edge Signalling System for a major transport network. This is a high-profile, multi-million-pound programme that will shape the future of safe, efficient, and reliable rail services.
What You'll Be Doing
Take the lead on the design, delivery, testing and commissioning of a new signalling system.
Develop and maintain specifications and standards for design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair.
Carry out audits and inspections to ensure compliance with engineering and legislative standards.
Provide high-level technical advice to internal teams and external partners throughout all project phases.
Oversee the integration of this project with other major programmes, including fleet replacement and infrastructure upgrades.
Supervise internal engineers and consultants, ensuring timely delivery and technical excellence.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and support safe operational practices across the project lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a technically skilled and proactive engineer who can:
Demonstrate significant experience with signalling systems (ideally in a rail or transport environment).
Solve complex technical problems independently and provide clear, actionable advice.
