This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a high-profile HS2 infrastructure project. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in managing costs, maximising value, and ensuring effective commercial control across the project. This role offers long-term stability, professional development, and exposure to complex civil engineering works.
Key Responsibilities:
Producing weekly and monthly cost and value reconciliations Capturing, allocating, and reporting costs and liabilities Supporting strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities Assisting with the preparation of commercial tenders, offers, and contracts Identifying and escalating non-compliant or inappropriate costs Recording and monitoring insurance claims Maintaining accurate and up-to-date commercial and contract records Capturing and reporting direct labour costs Drafting, reviewing, and awarding sub-contracts Sharing best practices and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives About You: You will hold a relevant degree in construction, quantity surveying, or commercial management and have experience supporting subcontractor management. A strong understanding of NEC3 contracts, commercial awareness, and knowledge of construction and contract law are essential. Experience Required
You will demonstrate excellent communication and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and advanced Excel capability. You will be proactive, organised, and able to manage your workload effectively while working collaboratively within a team.
