Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Quantity Surveyor to join our construction and infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building projects, ensuring that the project is completed within its projected budget. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects, utilise your expertise in cost control, and develop your career within a dynamic organisation.
Duties
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial design through to completion.
* Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying and addressing any variances promptly.
* Negotiate with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to secure favourable terms and prices.
* Analyse tenders and assist in the selection of contractors and suppliers based on cost efficiency and quality standards.
* Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to the project.
* Provide detailed reports on project financial status to senior management and clients.
* Implement effective cost control measures to optimise resource utilisation without compromising quality or safety standards.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and legal regulations.
* Excellent skills in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.
* Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
* Relevant qualification such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is but not essential
