Our collaborative and multi-disciplinary team is one of the largest in the UK, providing water and wastewater infrastructure services alongside drainage design, SuDS and surface water management. Our wide variety of clients span across the UK and internationally and include water companies, local authorities, highways / rail authorities, and developers.
It’s an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business with unprecedented investment in the water industry. Due to continued framework successes, we seek to recruit an Assistant Project Manager, to join our Water and Wastewater Team in Derby or Birmingham to support with leading a range of Engineering and Consultancy projects, with a leading UK Water Company’s, as well as support our expanding portfolio of projects across the UK.
Your Purpose:
- You will be a practicing Assistant Project Manager, working with the support of the wider Networks and Drainage Solutions (N&DS) team, you will be responsible for delivering schemes to budget and programme and be the first point of contact with clients.
- At first, you'll handle simpler, low-risk projects with full support as you develop and take on more responsibility.
- Assist the Project Manager or lead on smaller projects, in the development of project plans, programmes etc.
- Liaise with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives.
- Negotiate and administer change control in accordance with the contract.
- Management of risks through the project life cycle.
- Clear and accurate monitoring and reporting of project performance against programme, technical quality, financial and KPI targets; both internally and externally.
- Liaise with project stakeholders.
What you can bring:
- Experience as an Assistant Project Manager or similar role, preferably in the water industry.
- Knowledge of various forms of construction contract, in particular NEC3 or NEC4.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrate a proactive and flexible working attitude, is adaptable and responds positively in response to challenges.
- Degree in Business Administration, Management, Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering or related field.
