Assistant Product Manager

In an exciting phase of development, we are seeking an Assistant Product Manager within the Product Management division. The Assistant Product Manager will play a supporting role in shaping the future of Vax, working with the Product Manager and cross-functional departments to develop the product strategy in one of our floorcare product categories.

Once in the role, you will become an expert in your category and through personal experience, you will build your knowledge to become the company expert. At Vax, we build our products based on consumer insights and data which will become a foundational element of your plans.

Day to Day

Each day within the role will be different and a chance for you to identify and shape future product ideas with your colleagues from engineering, insights and the commercial sales teams. On a daily basis you will -

• Monitor external and internal changes within your product category, strategic planning of the 3-year product roadmap, range and product lifecycle management and corrective actions to ensure sustained growth to hit your category budget targets.
• Create and present new product development opportunities to the business for key stage sign-off, aligned with the companies purpose, consumer needs and strategic growth area's.
• Establish advanced understanding of your category, develop a full understanding of market dynamics, trends and competitive products through an integrated use of GfK reporting, competitor monitoring and channel / general research.
• Insight Testing - We put the consumer at the heart of our decisions, you will support the insight team support to conduct necessary insight studies to gain consumer and product feedback to challenge and shape key decisions.
• Market Launch Preparation - Proactively drive the creation of key marketing assets and content needed for a full through the line product launch, ensuring our products right to win is clear and compelling.
• Testing & Validation– Support in raising test request forms and ensure we have an accurate and up to date view of competitor performance alongside our own products.

What we need from you

• Passion for brands, marketing, products and Consumer Insight.
• Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and work at a fast pace
• A passion for understanding customers and using that knowledge to create product ranges that customers love
• Great commercial acumen. You understand the key commercial metrics in business & you’re comfortable getting into the details.
• The ability to influence and collaborate, with the confidence to champion consumers needs
• Comfortable communicating at all levels across a range of different teams
• Tenacity, resilience, energy and passion to add value and make a difference
