Assistant Engineer - Structures Location: Bristol Rate: £33 per hour Contract: Initial 12 months

Role Overview:

I'm working with one of my local authority clients in Bristol who are looking to bring an Assistant Engineer (Structures) on board for an initial 12-month contract. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of structural design and maintenance, particularly within a highways or local authority setting. You'll be supporting the delivery of various capital works and helping to manage and inspect structural assets across the network.

What you'll be doing:

·Assisting with structural design for maintenance, improvements, and strengthening of existing structures ·Supporting the design of new structures in line with current codes of practice and European standards ·Checking designs and supervising construction of developer-promoted structures ·Overseeing works on road restraint systems ·Preparing Approval in Principle (AIP) documents in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) ·Assisting with project management across the council's capital programme ·Participating in Principal and General Inspections of structures
