CladUp Design Ltd is a Stage 4 & 5 design engineering studio specializing in facade design, including rainscreen cladding, precast facades, GRC panels, windows/doors, and curtain walling systems. We bring expertise across various materials such as cladding, aluminum windows, curtain walling, and steel frame systems (SFS), providing comprehensive Stage 4 & 5 design and technical support for projects.


£30,000 - £36,000 a year - Full-time

Facade Industry training provided.

Role Description


This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Assistant Design Manager at CladUp Design Ltd with 3 days on site weekly. The Assistant Facade Design Manager will be responsible for:


  • Assisting the design manager to oversee delivery of design projects, including shop drawings and coordination of facade details with trade contractors.
  • Checking and support site with system drawings and scheduling materials for facade systems.
  • Providing technical advice to installers on-site to ensure execution of facade designs.
  • Co-ordinating with internal and external teams to assist co-ordination for the architectural, structural, MEP, Fire engineering and other engineering requirements.


You will Learn:

  • How to manage and coordinate Stage 4 & 5 façade design packages.
  • The fundamentals of cladding systems, windows, curtain walling, and SFS interfaces.
  • How to carry out design coordination with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and fire engineers.
  • How to assess and review façade contractor proposals, bracket systems, and interface details.
  • How to support compliance with Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act (Gateway 2).
  • Best practices for document management, using drawing registers, RFI logs, and quality checklists.


Requirement

  • Must have Excellent written and Fluent verbal English communication skills.
  • Must be based in the UK with the right to work (e.g. valid visa or British citizenship).
  • Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confident communicator, able to collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Genuine interest in growing within the façade industry.
