Key Responsibilities
Assistant Buyer Support procurement across multiple housing developments, including tender enquiries, supplier quotations, and price comparisons. Prepare material schedules and quantities from drawings/specifications (training provided) and raise accurate purchase orders. Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to manage orders, follow-ups, and supplier performance. Assist with invoice queries, reconciliation, and record-keeping alongside Finance. Track material deliveries, attend project meetings, and communicate specification changes to site teams. Maintain procurement systems, databases, and reports to support commercial decision-making. Assistant Buyer Requirements: Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills with the confidence to liaise with suppliers
Comfortable working with numbers, costs and budgets
Ability to read drawings and basic specifications (training provided)
Good IT skills or willingness to learn
Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
Team-focused with a professional and proactive approach
