The Role

A growing technical business is looking for an External Sales Representative to manage and develop an existing customer base while actively driving new demand within the territory.

This role combines account management with proactive business development, focused on increasing revenue, strengthening relationships, and expanding product adoption.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management

  • Act as the main point of contact for existing customers
  • Conduct regular site visits and virtual meetings
  • Build structured account plans to drive long-term value
  • Ensure high levels of service and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate internally to resolve issues and deliver solutions


Demand Creation & Business Development

  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts
  • Generate new demand through wider networks (installers, planners, distributors)
  • Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and training
  • Increase product awareness and specification within the market


Territory & Sales Management

  • Develop and execute a clear territory growth strategy
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets and KPIs
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts, and reporting via CRM
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity


What You’ll Need

  • Experience in external or field-based B2B sales
  • Strong account management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to generate new opportunities within existing customers
  • Confident communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to understand technical products and articulate value
  • Strong organisation and territory planning capability
  • Experience using CRM systems and digital sales tools
  • Full UK driving licence


Desirable:

  • Background in electrical, industrial, mechanical, or similar technical sectors
  • Experience with consultative selling and multi-stakeholder environments
