Applications & Commercialisation Manager

New Today

Location: Bristol (Science Creates, BS2 0NS) or Luxembourg HQ (House of BioHealth, L-4354) Job Title: Applications & Commercialisation Manager Salary: up to £65k dependent on experience About the Role Uplift360 is commercialising ChemR, a solvolysis-based process for recovering high-performance carbon fibre from aerospace CFRP waste. We produce regenerated carbon fibre products — from wet-laid non-wovens to engineered thermoplastic compounds — targeting a range of advanced manufacturing markets. Parallel to this we are developing a second chemical recycling technology called Renew, which produces continuous aramid fibres from end-of-life para-aramid materials such as body armour, creating a new fibre form that can be integrated into new and alternative products. This role sits at the intersection of technical and commercial. The Technical Business Development Manager will be our primary interface with customers and project partners — someone who can hold credible technical conversations about composites applications, identify where our product fits, and build the relationships that translate into commercial agreements and funded project consortia. Reflecting the pivotal nature of this role in customer lifecycle management you will dual report to the Director of Commercial Strategy & Growth (solid) and the Director of Product & Engineering (dotted). The right candidate will be able to rise to the challenge of this rapidly-growing start‑up, own, define and develop this role into indispensable glue between sales and delivery. About Uplift360 Uplift360 is transforming how aerospace, defence and industrial sectors recover and reuse high-value composite waste. Our proprietary ChemR technology chemically regenerates carbon fibre — producing a high-value material ready for reintegration into the market. In February 2026 we closed a €7.4M seed round led by Extantia, with investment from the NATO Innovation Fund, Promus Ventures and Fund F. We work with Babcock on Eurofighter Typhoon end-of-life recovery, Leonardo on Merlin helicopter blade regeneration, and RollsRoyce. We were named one of Tech Nation’s Top 25 Climate Tech Companies to Watch in 2026. What You’ll Do
Customer development: Identify, approach, and develop relationships with prospective customers across target markets — including non-wovens, SMC, thermoplastic compounds, and aerospace/industrial applications. Support Director of Commercial Strategy & Growth in building and managing a pipeline of engaged prospects. Technical customer conversations: Lead application-level technical discussions with customers — understanding their processing requirements, material specifications, and qualification processes. Represent Uplift360 credibly in conversations about composites processing and materials performance. Requirements translation: Capture and qualify customer technical requirements and feed them to the Director of Product & Engineering in a structured, actionable form. The quality of requirements fed upstream directly shapes product development priorities. Customer lifecycle management: Ensure smooth transition from Business Development, through sales and to those delivering for customers. Assist in ensuring positive customer experience, growing relationships and managing expectations. Consortia and partnership development: Identify and build relationships with potential partners for collaborative R&D projects — including OEMs (composite & equipment manufacturers), Tier 1s, reformatters, and academic institutions. Grant project scoping: Contribute to the scoping and early development of Innovate UK, APC, and Horizon-type project applications. Work with internal and external stakeholders to define project objectives, partner roles, and work packages. Market intelligence: Stay close to developments in recycled carbon fibre markets, composites applications, and relevant funding landscapes. Feed intelligence to both reporting lines to inform strategy. Trade shows and events: Represent Uplift360 at relevant industry events. Identify and prioritise events worth attending; follow up leads systematically. General marketing: Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator to ensure MARCOM messaging and activity aligns with product and technology roadmaps.
These key accountabilities listed above describe an overview of the post and are not intended to be exhaustive. The job holder is expected to accept reasonable additional tasks of similar level that may be necessary and not listed. What We’re Looking For Essential Knowledge, Skills & Personal Qualities
Composites background — processing, applications, or materials; able to talk technically with composites engineers and procurement teams. Commercial experience — direct customer or partner-facing work, not purely R&D or lab-based. Experience working on or contributing to grant-funded collaborative projects (Innovate UK, APC, Horizon, or equivalent). Strong written and verbal communication — able to write clearly and present confidently to technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable working in an early-stage business — ambiguity, shifting priorities, and a degree of self-direction come with the territory. Familiarity with a CRM – we use Salesforce, so familiarity with the system is a plus.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Experience with recycled or sustainable materials — rCF, natural fibre composites, or similar. Existing network in aerospace, automotive, or industrial composites supply chains. Experience contributing to grant application writing — not just project delivery. Familiarity with semi-finished CF product formats — non-wovens, SMC, thermoplastic. Understanding of carbon fibre recycling technologies and the rCF supply landscape.
