Our Central Government client is establishing a new AI Futures and Innovation team to turn AI strategy into reality. This team will promote innovative AI solutions, scale those that deliver measurable value, and embed AI into core operations to support their strategic priorities and sustainability goals.

With AI interest rapidly growing across the organisation, this team will help shape how we explore opportunities, prioritise investment, and deliver responsible, high‑impact innovation.

We are looking for a proactive and adaptable Project Manager to bring structure, governance, and momentum to a portfolio of emerging AI initiatives. This is not a typical PM role as you will be working in a fast‑moving, exploratory environment where not all answers are known yet, helping teams navigate discovery and scaling pathways.

You will play a central role in ensuring AI initiatives are well‑governed, strategically aligned, and set up for success from incubation through to operationalisation. You'll work closely with colleagues across the company and other partners to manage dependencies, secure funding, and ensure robust delivery.

Key Skills Required:

Must have worked for a central government organisation previously

Understand AI concepts, risks, and delivery pathways.

Are comfortable working in ambiguity and shaping structure where it doesn't yet exist.

In return, you will receive the opportunity to help shape how a major organisation adopts and scales AI. This contract has a hybrid working policy where you can be based at any main hub. The rate for this role is £500 per day(inside IR35). The initial contract will be until 31st March 2026 with possibility of extension.
