DescriptionJob title: Advanced Supply Chain ApprenticeLocation: Barrow-in-Furness (Cumbria)Salary: Starting from £14,527 – £23,493 per annum dependent on , with annual progression through the scheme durationWhat you’ll be doing:• Responsible for coordinating demand, buying products, managing suppliers and ensuring our inventory is safely stored and maintained• Raising purchase orders for multi-million pound contracts, reviewing supplier risk portfolios and developing creative storage solutions• Working in a fast-paced environment on business-critical projects, helping deliver the right products, at the right time, at the right price• You will develop a various set of practical and technical skills within a rotation of placements• Developing your procurement and supply expertise, gaining an excellent understanding of organisations and wider business environmentsThe Supply Chain Team: Our team is responsible for ensuring that our boat programmes and site projects are working at maximum capability. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels.
In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s.
