Job overview
Urgent Treatment Centre, Whipps Cross (UTC) has an exciting opportunity for a band 7 ANP/ENP to join their dynamic and diverse team in delivering compassionate and standard care to people of Waltham cross.

The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians, and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services within an Urgent Treatment setting in a widely diverse locality. The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) provides a 7-day a week, 24-hours a day service 365 days a year.
The post holder will require to work day & night shifts, with the aim to avoid hospital admission through clinical assessment or streaming to primary care/acute services when possible.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be:
- Registered Nurse/Paramedic current active registration with recognised professional organisation (NMC ,HCPC)
- Responsible for patients and will assess, manage, plan, and deliver care, including being professionally and legally accountable
- Work as an autonomous advanced practitioner within the Urgent Treatment Centre
- Able to undertake physical examination in order to diagnose undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- To assess, treat, refer or discharge any patient attending the Urgent Treatment Centre
- To recognise and take appropriate actions in an emergency situation
- Clinical shift lead as per rota
- To work with students and other junior health professionals
- To provide health promotion and safety netting information to patients and carers
- Maintain a high quality of care for all patients and carers attending the unit
- Facilitate access of patients into secondary or community care settings as appropriate

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary ( with aminimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941).
