This is a newly created role that will initially focus on Accounts Payable duties but will grow to support with wider finance duties.
Accounts Assistant Responsibilities: Process high volumes of purchase invoices (matching, batching and coding) accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner. Gain authorisation for invoices from relevant department heads as required. Accurately perform accounts payable and supplier payments data entry tasks. Assist with the preparation of monthly, weekly and daily supplier payment runs Complete supplier statement reconciliations, chasing any missing invoices as required. Manage and respond to a high volume of supplier queries, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Assist in the preparation of financial reports by providing relevant data and analysis as required. Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile multiple bank accounts. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Accounts Assistant Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within accounts payable or purchase ledger functions. Experience of accurately processing a high volume of purchase invoices. Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. A solid understanding of the impact of purchase ledger within the company accounts. Experience performing supplier statement reconciliations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computerised systems. Experience of using Quickbooks is highly advantageous although not essential. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in line with business demands. Strong reconciliation skills. Problem solving and query resolution skills. A positive and proactive approach to tasks and duties. The ability to work in a developing environment, supporting setting up and adapting to new accounting processes. The ability to work from the office 5 days per week and commute to North Manchester.
