Location: Luton (Onsite) Package: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, onsite working, and clear progression pathway Working hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours per day
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a growing and forward-thinking accountancy firm for an Accounting and Finance Assistant, within their Luton office. This is a crucial role responsible for managing the accounts payable/receivable process, performing reconciliations, and handling supplier-related finance functions.
Paying up to £30k, with a supportive and ambitious working environment, this position offers extensive exposure to a broad range of clients and advisory work. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and proactive, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Accounting and Finance Assistant Job Overview * Manage the accounts payable and receivable process, including chasing outstanding invoices and following up with customers. * Review, verify, and process incoming invoices promptly while maintaining accurate records. * Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank receipts, accounts receivable, and supplier statements. * Manage the accounts payable ledger and process staff expenses. * Prepare and process payment runs, ensuring compliance with company policies. * Assist with project management tasks, such as reconciling contractor payment certificates and maintaining retentions. * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers, managing queries effectively. * Support the finance team with cashflow monitoring, job profitability reporting, and financial reports.
Accounting and Finance Assistant Job Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, AAT, or part ACCA qualification. * At least 3+ years of experience in accounts payable/receivable, invoice management, and reconciliations. * Strong proficiency in QuickBooks software is essential. * Detailed understanding of accounting principles and practices. * Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and communication skills. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. * Willingness and ability to travel to Guernsey 3-4 times a year.
