The Role – Head of Data Analytics & Reporting Transformation
The Data Analytics & Reporting Transformation Team is a new and evolving function that plays a key role in shaping how MoJ delivers its data reporting capability.
The team develops reporting tools such as dashboards, leads work on improving the production of data for statistical reporting, and manages both internal and public-facing data dissemination tools.
The focus in all these areas is in ensuring that data reporting follows best practices in automation, data pipelines, ELT processes, and data modelling, making reporting more efficient and reliable. This requires close collaboration with statisticians, data analysts, data engineers, and analytics engineers to deliver end-to-end processes which transform the department’s raw data into effective and scalable reporting solutions. The team is also responsible for supporting others in the organisation to do the same.
This is an opportunity to lead a team at the forefront of leveraging MoJ’s cutting-edge data technology infrastructure and expertise to deliver reporting solutions that meet organisational needs while making the best use of available data and technology.
As Head of Data Analytics and Reporting Transformation, you will lead a team developing improved reporting solutions for MoJ, as well as setting the wider strategic agenda for data reporting within the department. You will set work priorities for the team as well as communicating with others across the wider organisation to embed improvements in data reporting practices.
With an emphasis on embedding the use of automated processes in data reporting, the role requires someone with appropriate technical knowledge and experience, particularly in the fields of data and analytics engineering, data warehousing, BI tools and data visualisation. The post holder will use this experience to define and develop technical solutions to data reporting requirements within MoJ’s existing AWS cloud infrastructure, leading a team of specialists in the application of these techniques.
